It's here! It's BIKE TO WORK WEEK! We know, we know, the weather has been less than stellar, but don't let that put the kibosh on your plans to start commuting... by the end of the week we should be back to sunshine and blue skies (and temps above 55)!
FRIDAY, May 20th is National Bike to Work Day, which will launch our FIRST GROUP COMMUTE!
Bike Lakewood will have an energizer station with coffee and small bites at Lakewood Public Library (7am-9am). At 7:05am we will roll out as a group, headed for the Cleveland Bike Rack (downtown between the Q and Harry Buffalo) where Bike Cleveland will have an energizer station set up. The Bike Rack has showers and lockers available. Day passes are available for $8 for non-members.
The route will take us down Lakeland to Clifton. We will continue along Clifton to Lake and onto Detroit. Depending on everyone's comfort level we will cross Detroit at W 25th to ride across the Detroit Superior bridge via the elevated bike path on the northern side or continue straight into downtown. Total distance is about 7 miles. The pace will be casual at about 12-17 mph. None will be left behind.
